River Haven Counseling Center, LLC. is excited to be offering Christian counseling services for children, adolescents, young adults, and their families.  Our counselors specialize in working with ages 5-25 years old, parents, and families. 

At River Haven Counseling, we strive to create an environment for growth and development, where children, teens, and young adults are able to grow into their fullest potential of whom God created them to be.

The mission of our company is to point our clients to the ultimate healing that comes from the truth of the gospel.

While we are a faith-based counseling center, our counselors are trained to work with individuals from a variety of cultural and religious backgrounds.

Our services include cognitive behavioral therapy, Child-Centered play therapy, creative arts therapy, stress management, trauma counseling, and parenting consultations. 

We also work with individuals with a variety of concerns including but not limited to peer pressure, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, lack of motivation, poor concentration in school, life transitions, grief, social skills, positive communication, and low confidence.

Lauren McGee LPC, LMHC, NCC

Practice Owner 
Child and Adolescent Counselor

Lauren is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor in the field of Mental Health with a focus on child and adolescent counseling. She is also a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. Through out the years her research and clinical experience has been focused on providing counseling to youth who have limited access to mental health care.  She has served as a clinical counselor in both elementary and middle schools and provided individual and group counseling, crisis support, mental health training for school staff and to help provide students with resources needed for success. 

Lauren practices an integrative therapeutic approach that is tailored to her client’s concerns including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Child-Centered Play Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, & Solution Focused Therapy.  For client's interested she is able integrate faith based counseling into the therapeutic treatment process. 

One of Lauren’s goal as a therapist is to help create a safe atmosphere where client’s feel heard and are able to collaborate with their therapist on strategies to help reach his/her goals for counseling. Lauren specializes in working with, trauma, low self-esteem, anxiety, anger, depression. She also provides parenting consultation to assist with parenting strategies.  Lauren has a strong passion to come alongside children and their parents to help kids grow into healthy individuals.

Tiffany Glover, LAPC 

Child and Adolescent Counselor 

Tiffany Glover is an Associate Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia. She received her Bachelors of Science from Georgia Southwestern State University and holds a Master’s Degree from Capella University in Clinical Psychology specializing in Clinical Counseling. 

Tiffany’s passion is helping children and teens build a healthy foundation that will grow into adulthood. She strives as a therapist to create a safe haven for your child to explore emotions and work through challenges that contribute to their overall wellbeing. She believes in empowering children to help meet healthy goals while coming along in their journey. 

Tiffany aims to provide several therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, solution focused therapy. In addition, she has received training in using person centered play therapy. Tiffany specializes in working with children 4 – 12 years old dealing with a variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, anger management, school challenges, low self-esteem and more!  Tiffany is also the author of the children’s book Sydney’s Rainbow of Emotions.

Tiffany enjoys hiking outdoors, reading, shopping, and spending time with her family. 

Tiffany is currently under the supervision of Katrina Pointer LPC, CPCS

Monica Tarver, LMSW

Adolescent & Adult Counselor 

Monica Tarver is a Licensed Master Social Worker in the State of Georgia. She earned her Master’s degree in Social Work with a Clinical Concentration from the University of Georgia and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi. She also has a Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy.

Monica is a patient, caring, compassionate, nonjudgmental, yet firm therapist who wants to see you reach your full potential. One of her goals is to help her clients feel safe, seen, heard, and free enough to take off the masks people often hide behind. While she is knowledgeable and skilled in treating a variety of issues, she’s most passionate about self-esteem.  Monica has found that one’s view of self is often at the core of common issues like anxiety, depression, and general life dissatisfaction, to name a few.

Monica uses an eclectic treatment approach incorporating Cognitive Behavioral, Solutions Focused, Client Centered, Family Systems, and Strengths based therapies. She specializes in working with teens and adults.

Monica enjoys spending time with family, eating her favorite foods, and reading.

Monica is under the clinical supervision of Jennifer Schafer, Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

Charlese Williams, LAPC, NCC

Child and Adolescent Counselor 

Charlese is an Associate Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia. Her educational background includes a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Richmont Graduate University and a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mass Communication from Albany State University. She is also a Nationally Certified Counselor through the NBCC.

One of the driving forces that led Charlese to become a counselor is her heart for children and adolescents. Providing a safe, and inviting space for clients to verbalize their emotions, process their traumas/hardships, and begin to heal from any pain they are experiencing in life is the foundation for Charlese's therapeutic approach. Charlese strives to use therapy to intervene and equip her clients with tools that improve their mental health in their youth and set a foundation for their mental health throughout adulthood.

Charlese sees children and adolescents for various concerns such as life transitions, depression, anxiety, trauma, and issues related to work and school. She also enjoys working with the parents of her clients to reach optimal growth within the family system. She invites parents to provide feedback on their children's progress in therapy to ensure all parties remain informed on the techniques and skillsets obtained during the therapy process.

Charlese operates from an eclectic theoretical framework, including person-centered therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, and solution-focused therapy. Charlese also offers the integration of faith and spirituality into a client's treatment upon request.

Charlese is currently under the supervision of Dr. Sonja Sutherland, Ph.D., LPC, BC-TMH, ACS.
